In the first two "Emily Post" books that I'm illustrating, I get to have endpapers. This has not always been the case with my books. My first book, Oh, Baby! had really cool "floating babies" for the endpapers, but since then, nothing. Until now! I loved painting these rows of stripes that open and close Emily's Magic Words.

These are the endpapers for Emily's Sharing and Caring Book. The children build with blocks throughout the story, so here they make a nice, colorful pattern at the beginning and end of the story. Now I want this made into a printed fabric!
